To be fair, the filter the photographer used for the LC is absolutely terrible for a bright colour, given how it makes everything in the shot more drab.

Every photo I’ve seen has looked bad. Yellow only works when it’s extremely saturated.

in person the yellow LFA’s seem to have a bit of pearl in the paint.

It’s similar but not the same. The LC’s yellow is called Flare Yellow. It appears to be more pale because it has a coat of Ultra White paint (there are multiple coats of yellow). The LFA’s yellow on the other hand is called Pearl Yellow, and as beardsbynelly stated, it has a pearl effect.
